TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF JAC JOSSA ACADEMY

This agreement sets out the terms and conditions that will govern the relationship between us, Jac Jossa School of performing arts Ltd and you, the Parent/Guardian. It is a legally binding agreement. These conditions are important to maintain standards and to ensure that all members gain the maximum benefit from their membership.

Jac Jossa Academy cannot accept children without a signed and fully completed membership form.

Signing your Children in and collecting your children from class

Jac Jossa School of performing arts Ltd and are responsible for children for the duration of the session booked. Jac Jossa Academy cannot accept responsibility for children outside the designated hours of care. Unfortunately, we are unable to admit children before the session start time.

Parents/Guardians must register their children at the beginning of the session with reception and collect their children from the designated pick up point at the end of the session. Please be patient as your child’s safety is of paramount importance to us.

Parents wishing older children to walk home unaccompanied must inform the Manager/member of staff on duty. All sessions are drop off sessions. No parents or spectators are allowed into classes at any times other than to watch presentations and shows.

Parents/carers are welcome to wait on the premises for the duration of their child’s class but are also welcomed to leave children in our supervision.

Classes start on time so please arrive a few minutes earlier to register and be ready for the start of your class time. Any continuous lateness may result in the loss of your child’s place.

Please be advised that parents should notify the team if your child needs to leave the session early for any reason.

 

Class cancellations:

Jac Jossa School of performing arts Ltd will not accept liability for any teaching sessions which have to be cancelled for reasons beyond their control (such as fire, flood, extreme weather or criminal activity). In these circumstances Jac Jossa Academy will be under no obligation to provide compensation and any arrangements made as a goodwill gesture will be at Jac jossa Academy discretion.

Late collection

In the event of late collection, a penalty charge may be incurred and could result in the loss of your child’s place.

If the child is not collected within a reasonable amount of time and parents cannot be contacted, Jac Jossa School of performing arts Ltd will take the child to the nearest police station or contact social services. In the case of an emergency, please call 07538560059 to notify us as soon as possible.

Please be advised that parents should notify the team if your child needs to leave the session early for any reason.

In the Event of Illness or Accident

If your child is sick (eg, diarrhoea, vomiting, flu etc) they will not be permitted to register as we have a responsibility to all children’s health and welfare.

Should a child become ill or is involved in an accident, parents will be contacted using the telephone numbers listed on the family account and the nature of the illness/accident explained. The child must be collected so the parent can seek professional medical advice.

If immediate hospital treatment is required an ambulance will be called (e.g. broken limb, head/back injury) and parents will be notified.

In the event that the child should need emergency treatment and the parents cannot be contacted, Jac Jossa Academy will act in loco parentis and authorise treatment.

It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to keep Jac Jossa Academy updated with changes of address and telephone numbers and to be contactable during the sessions.

Behaviour

Jac Jossa School of performing arts Ltd recognises the importance of positive and effective behaviour management strategies in promoting children’s welfare, learning and enjoyment and the child’s confidence. In the event of misbehaviour, a teacher may, at any time, ask your child to leave a class if he/she is jeopardising the safety or enjoyment of others or their educational experience.

Bullying, harassment, abuse or other inappropriate behaviour by you, your child or guests is strictly forbidden and will result in expulsion and such other legal remedies as may be available.

You and your child must treat all Jac Jossa Academy staff and teachers with respect and consideration. Jac Jossa School of performing arts Ltd will not tolerate rude, offensive or aggressive remarks and behaviour in any way. You must always make yourself and your child aware of the health and safety rules of the venue and comply with the rules.

Smoking is not permitted anywhere in our Academy premises

I’m afraid we are not able to accept students who are not toilet trained.

 

Photos and videos

We reserve the right to use any individual or group photographs or movie shots of your child for press or promotional purposes, unless you as the parent have stated other wise when booking and filling out our booking form.

 

Break time

Children attending Jac Jossa Academy Saturday School age 3-6 should bring a snack and a drink and Children aged 7-16 should bring a packed lunch. On holiday workshops a snack or packed lunch should also be provided, we will state which is needed depending on the length of the workshop. Parents should label their child’s packed lunch so that they do not get mixed up.

Food, drink or gum may only be consumed in the designated break times in the academy.

Parents are advised not to include food which requires refrigeration. Packed lunches are stored at room temperature and kept away from direct sunlight, heaters and radiators. We recommend parents include picnic type pre-frozen ice packs/cool bags. We would ask that you do not pack anything that contains nuts for the welfare of other children who may have allergies. Children are supervised whilst eating.

Payments

Jac Jossa School of performing arts Ltd are unable to reserve a place in class without payment. Payments can be made by credit/debit card/ Paypal using our online booking service. All payments should be received in full in advance. Students attending the first session of the term will be liable for the full term’s fees. Our Saturday Academy classes and our weekly drama /dance/singing sessions are booked termly and require payment in advance via the online booking system.

Our weekly fitness classes are paid in advance in groups of 6 classes at a time and should be booked using our online booking service.

Our Private singing lessons are booked separately over the telephone or via our enquiry form on our website, these can be paid for one class at a time.

Our intense drama classes taken by Jacqueline Jossa will be paid for in advance by our online booking service and it will be a group of 6 classes at a time for this booking.

REFUNDS

 Jac Jossa Academy operates a no refund policy. In extreme situations, refunds/credit notes may be considered at the discretion of Jac Jossa Academy.

 

Jac Jossa School of performing Arts taster /trial sessions

Jac Jossa free taster sessions or free trial sessions are at the approval of the Jac Jossa School of performing arts Ltd Director and are subject to availability. We will let interested parties know when we will be holding taster sessions in due course. If a student wishes to take part in a course following this they will need to book and pay in advance as usual.

Staff Changes

Jac Jossa School of performing arts Ltd have the right to change their staff at any time, we pride ourselves on having the best teachers and will seek to maintain this for the benefit for your child and us as an academy.

Clothing

Jac Jossa School of performing arts Ltd has a uniform. Students should wear the Jac Jossa Academy T-shirts (available online or in the academy reception) they should also wear black leggings or tracksuit bottoms.

For Ballet students should wear leotard, tights, ballet pumps, hair in a bun

For Tap, tap shoes and our normal uniform.

Fitness classes: You should wear normal gym attire suitable for the class. Boogie bounce you also wear the suitable socks.

Please label with your child’s name all of their clothes for the Academy

 

Personal Belongings

Jac Jossa School of performing arts Ltd are unable to accept liability for damage or loss of property. We recommend that all property is labelled, and no personal belongings are brought in and left in the academy.

 

We reserve the right to make changes to these rules.

This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
